School Platform

Client

A private school that wanted grades, schedules, homework and tests in one place for students, parents, teachers and the administration.

Problem

Four roles with different needs, on phones and in a browser. Students and parents need the diary and notifications, teachers need to create topics, homework and tests, the administration needs classes, schedules and performance analytics. Some teachers work in more than one school.

Solution

A mobile app on Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform (MVI, Material 3, Ktor) for Android and iOS, also shipped as a Telegram Mini App. Sign-in with a code sent in Telegram, push and Telegram notifications about new grades and homework. A React + Material UI web panel for teachers and staff: classes and students with their parents, a grade journal for different subject types, topics and homework, lesson schedules, tests and analytics. Backend on Node.js, Express and MariaDB with JWT auth and a Routes → Controllers → Services API, centralised logging and parameterised SQL queries.
